SYNOPSIS
Life sucked, but nothing sucked more than life in the literal zombie apocalypse.
Maribelle knew this — just a few months into the start of the literal apocalypse, her (ex) husband left her alone with most of her supplies as well as their kids. Now alone and to her own devices, Maribelle has become a pessimistic, zombie-killing self-proclaimed badass (which, to be fair, she is). However, part of her knows she can’t stay where she is. She just doesn’t want to leave, not yet.
That was a year and a half ago.
Now Maribelle’s running out of supplies, and she has to go further and further away from her home base to get more. She finds others, people she doesn’t want to adopt into her care but invite themselves anyway, and now she’s being forced to move on from everything she’s known toward a future not even the others are positive will happen.
Then again, it’s the zombie apocalypse; nothing is certain except that this is not forever.
CHARACTERS (as of right now)
MARIBELLE — the main protagonist of our story (she/her). somewhere in her early thirties (as if she keeps up with that anymore) and divorced, has killing zombies down to an art form. probably seen as cold-hearted to most other people, and they may be right.
RIVER — one of the first people maribelle finds in scouring further from where she normally goes (they/them). they think the entire zombie apocalypse is bullshit and have a new conspiracy theory for it every hour. very much like maribelle in that they can fight off zombies and may also be a little cold (but they’re arguably nicer than maribelle).
ROBERT — evelyn’s widowed father who just lost his wife when he and maribelle met (he/him). a big softie who doesn’t really like killing zombies, but does so to keep his daughter safe. doesn’t care why the apocalypse started, and he knows it won’t end, he just wants his daughter safe.
EVELYN — robert’s only child who’s arguably too young to be growing up as a young teen in the zombie apocalypse (she/her). loves her dad and misses her mom, even though she’s happy that she’s still making it through every day. a likable child with stars in her eyes and the whole world ahead of her, as long as she makes it through.
A DISCLAIMER
due to current events, i feel it is important to say that everything happening in this project is completely and entirely fictional. it’s been a wip i’ve wanted to make for years with characters who have bounced from universe to universe for a long time (maribelle, especially). this is their home now, and they will grow where i planted them.
